Gentrol Point Source

Usually Ships in 1-2 days
Gentrol Point Source offers serious roach control thanks to its active ingredient. Although it doesn't kill roaches, it helps to reduce their population through a growth regulator. Female roaches produce numerous young over their lifetime. For example, German cockroaches lay up to 50 eggs at once in an ootheca and will produce around six oothecae before they die. Therefore, one female can produce up to 300 young in a single lifetime. If multiple roaches infest an interior space, it won't take long for the population to reach astronomical numbers.

How Gentrol Point Source Works

Gentrol Point Source is labeled as an insect growth regulator, or IGR. It contains the active ingredient hydroprene and targets the larvae and the eggs in the treated area. Hydroprene is useful in a roach prevention program in which it's important to prevent an infestation from happening. Because it's an IGR, this ingredient disrupts the life cycle of insects and stops them from being able to reproduce. It doesn't kill the insects; rather, it affects their ability to continue populating the interior. It also works on adult roaches, including other insects such as pantry pests and drain flies.

It's recommended to use Gentrol Point Source as part of an integrated pest management program in conjunction with contact and residual insecticides. While the insecticide kills the pests, Gentrol will act as a birth control for the remaining survivors and keep the populations under control in the treated area. In fact, the roaches won't have to contact the Gentrol station at all since it releases hydroprene particles that will move into a concentrated area.

Where to Use Gentrol Point Source

Use Gentrol Point Source IGR in areas where roaches and pantry pests have infested. Place a Gentrol station in closets, pantries, drawers and other confined spaces to target the insects and to reduce the population. It can also be placed around plumbing pipes to affect the insects as they leave or come in from the outside. Gentrol Point Source works well in ductwork, utility closets and similar places where the insects like to hide. It should not, however, be used outdoors to control insects. Some common areas for use include:

  • Homes
  • Food-handling establishments
  • Hospitals
  • Warehouses
  • Restaurants
  • Hotels

Target Pests

Gentrol Point Source is labeled for roach control, including the control of pantry pests such as confused flour beetles. Stored products pests like merchant beetles and Indian meal moths are also affected by the active ingredient. Use Gentrol to target the following pests and more:

  • Drugstore beetles
  • Saw-toothed grain beetles
  • Rice weevils
  • Cigarette beetles

Although it's not labeled for bedbugs or fruit flies, hydroprene can and does affect these pests in the same way as other labeled insects. However, do not rely on Gentrol for the direct control of bedbugs as they are resistant pests and require more than an IGR for complete elimination.

Reasons to Use Gentrol Point Source

  • Acts as a birth control for roaches and stored product pests
  • Safe to use in sensitive areas like food-handling facilities
  • Easy to set up and no need to spray the target space
  • Provides 90-day control and works well in IPM programs

Halt Roach Production With Gentrol Point Source
