How Velpar 75 DF Herbicide Works

Velpar 75 DF Herbicide contains an organic solid known as hexazinone. This colorless, highly soluble compound acts on the weed by inhibiting photosynthesis and killing the plant. It's registered as a nonselective herbicide for controlling invasive grasses, broadleaf weeds and woody plants. Velpar comes in water-dispersible granules and provides broad-spectrum control for targeting numerous weeds on home lawns, business landscaping and other grassy areas.

Where Do You Use Velpar 75 DF Herbicide ?

With Velpar 75 Herbicide, you can control dogfennel and other common weeds in residential areas. Use it as a spot treatment for controlling weeds along fence rows and driveways, and apply it on a commercial landscape to keep weeds and grasses from ruining its appearance. You can also use it to treat weeds in select forestry sites that yield radiata pine. Apply it on noncrop lands such as roadsides, railways and timberyards as well as storage areas and industrial sites.

Velpar 75 Herbicide Target Weeds

DuPont's Velpar 75 DF Herbicide weed killer targets both annual and perennial weeds and brush and is more effective in warm weather. It targets unwanted brush and vines such as blackberry, seedling gorse and Himalayan honeysuckle. Use it to kill paspalum, seedling broom and bracken with a calibrated spot-release applicator. Other target weeds include:

  • California thistle
  • Sweet brier
  • Mouse-ear
