How Shockwave 1 Aerosol Works

Don't mistake an aerosol insecticide for a weak alternative to sprays. Shockwave 1 contains several ingredients not only to kill the insects but also to provide residual control to break the reproductive cycle. These ingredients all work together and perform as well as any other insecticide on the market.

First, it contains NyGuard IGR, an insect growth regulator that prevents the insects from producing new generations. Second, it contains natural pyrethrins to target the insects' nervous system. Third, it contains a man-made pyrethroid known as bifenthrin, which paralyzes the insects and causes death within minutes or hours depending on the species.

Shockwave aerosol also contains piperonyl butoxide and MGK 264, two synergists that work in conjunction with the active ingredients. They don't do anything by themselves, but when they're combined with pyrethrins and bifenthrin, they increase their effectiveness, prohibiting the insects' enzymes from breaking down the insecticides in their bodies. Therefore, the ingredients work more effectively and provide optimal results in a single application.

Where to Use Shockwave Residual Aerosol

Shockwave 1 works anywhere insects have invaded interiors and exteriors. Because it works indoors and outdoors, use it to kill and to prevent infestations along perimeters of homes, businesses and institutions such as schools. It's ideal for use in hospitals and hotels, restaurants and groceries, and offices and transport vehicles. Apply it to cracks and crevices on sidewalks, exterior walls and decks. Some of the most common areas to use this insecticidal aerosol include:

  • Nursing homes
  • Food-handling areas
  • Storage closets
  • Manufacturing facilities
  • Schools

It can be applied as a crack and crevice treatment in various harborage areas such as cabinets, sinks and meter boxes. Use it to flush out and kill insects from their hiding spots, such as behind baseboards or beneath refrigerators. However, never spray it directly into electric outlets or in, on or around electrical equipment due to being a shock hazard.

Shockwave 1 Target Pests

Shockwave 1 Flushing, Killing and Residual Aerosol targets dozens of crawling and flying insects, including pantry pests such as Indian meal moths and confused flour beetles. It knocks down houseflies, wasps and other flying pests both inside and outside. It's especially useful at killing fungus gnats and fruit fly infestations.

This aerosol kills some of the most invasive and hard-to-control insects such as German cockroaches. Some of the most common insects that Shockwave 1 kills and controls include:

  • Fleas
  • Ticks
  • Carpet beetles
  • Earwigs
  • Silverfish
  • Black flies
  • Mites

If fleas have infested the pet area, use Shockwave 1 to kill and to prevent another infestation. It's also important to clean the bedding and to occasionally spot treat the area for maintenance.
