Avert cockroach bait contains a residual insecticide known as abamectin B1. It's also labeled as an anthelmintic, which is widely used in the veterinary field to kill parasitic worms. In pest management, this toxin is also an acaricide for mite and tick control, as well as a nematocide to kill various nematode worms. Avert uses this effective substance to control bait-averse and nonaverse cockroaches in residential, commercial and industrial areas.
Abamectin is combined in a dry flowable powder and works in two ways: by clinging to the roach's body and through ingestion while preening. As the roach walks in a treated area, it collects the dust on its body and carries it back to the colony. The dust collects on other members through contact and goes to work as they ingest the active ingredient. Once it's ingested, the chemical disrupts normal nerve function and causes paralysis. The pests begin to die off within 24 hours.
Although Avert contains an ingredient that targets numerous pest insects, its formula is specially designed for the successful control of various cockroach species. However, it may still be used to target other insect pests that harbor in cracks, crevices and other places indoors and outdoors.
Use Avert cockroach bait inside and outside structures on residential, commercial and industrial properties. It can be applied in cracks and crevices inside apartments, homes and hotels, including sensitive areas like hospitals and nursing homes. Use it to treat pest infestations beneath appliances and inside cabinets, as well as insects that nest around baseboards and in crawlspaces. Some common areas in which to use Avert dry flowable insecticide include:
Avert dry flowable cockroach bait is labeled for use on roaches, including German and American species. However, the active ingredient also effectively targets other general household pests such as earwigs and ants. It's highly successful at killing and controlling pantry pest infestations in kitchens and food-processing facilities, such as rice weevils, confused flour beetles and Indian meal moths. Some other common target pests include:
When targeting these pests, apply the dry flowable to cracks and crevices in and around doors and windows, sidewalks, foundations and other areas where the insects could be hiding or nesting. Use Avert in wall voids, tree holes and similar areas to reach deep into their nests and to eliminate an infestation on the spot.
Control roach infestations and knock out random household pests with Avert dry flowable cockroach bait. Its active ingredient effectively kills many different roach species while also eliminating ants, pantry pests and other invasive insects. It can be used both indoors and outdoors in and around homes and businesses, including clinics and nursing homes. No matter if it's grain beetles or German cockroaches, Avert provides successful roach and general pest control within 24 hours after application.
